U.S. Marshall Teddy Dennis and his partner Chuck Aule arrive at Shutter Island, which is home to the Ashecliffe Hospital for the Criminally Insane, as a hurricane bears down on them. The pair are there to track down an escaped patient, the convicted murderer Rachel Solando. But disappearing patients isn't the only secret that the island hides, and nothing at Ashcliffe Hospital is what it seems.
